What Is Biochar?

Biochar is a carbon-rich material produced from various organic biomass materials, including wood residues, bamboo, leaves, and agricultural waste (e.g. rice, corn, coconut, and sugarcane) through pyrolysis under limited oxygen conditions at temperatures between 350°C and 1,000°C. Biochar delivers benefits by storing carbon securely within the soil, it effectively blocks carbon dioxide from returning to the atmosphere, serving as a powerful Carbon Negative Technology.

Pyrolysis refers to the heating of biomass in an oxygen-free or oxygen-limited environment, ensuring the material turns into biochar instead of ash.
